My little senorita

Can babies have taste preferences already?  I know that she is supposed to be able to taste the food that I eat through swallowing amniotic fluid (brief ew), but can she like one food more than another?

The reason that I'm asking these silly questions into the blogosphere is that I think this little one loves her some Mexican food.  If you remember a few posts back, I noted that the first really strong, clear kick that I felt was when I was wondering aloud if I should go to a Mexican restaurant for lunch.  I did, and she did lots of little dance moves that made me think she enjoyed it.

Then again last night, Jeremy and I got some Chipotle after a late church meeting, and boy was she moving and grooving.  The movements were pretty varied, which made me think she was moving either around in space a lot, or moving all her little body parts.  Jeremy got to feel for a little while and only seemed to feel the strong kicks on the surface, but I could feel lots of little pokes and rolls all over.  So fun!

So I think this little lady loves her some cumin.  I'm not much for spicy food, so I don't think that's it.  Maybe she is just a sucker for the magical mix of onions, cilantro, and spices.

Come to think of it, Amy Poehler's Caitlyn also loves taking a run for the border, so I think I'm noticing a dangerous trend...
